Abstract

This research was carried out in order to determine the usage of smart board in physics class of physics teachers working in high school level institutions and to investigate their opinions about smart board usage.
The study formed in the spring term in 2015 – 2016 academic year. The research was composed in a group with 106 Physics teachers who work at the public and private high schools in Karatay, Selçuklu and Meram central districts of Konya province. In the study, “the survey of teacher’s opinion on using smart boards at high school level”, developed by was used. The program of SPSS 20 was used for statistical analysis of the data collected by the questionnaire. Accoding to the results of the survey, Iit has been confirmed that there are a number of advantages of smart boards The participant teachers stated that smart board provides many facilities for the preparation, the usage of multimedia, presentation of the lecture.
They also stated that the course teaching is supported with audio-visual resources, the students' distraction is prevented, the students' focus on the course is increased, the topics can be concretized, it contributed to the visual memory of the students, the questions can be solved more quickly and repetitions of the subject are simple and practical. They also reported that due to the technical problems occured during the course, the students were also negatively affected
