Clothes existing in the culture heritage are important and contentful fact. Clothes changing according to life-style in the societies are one of the most significant bridges connecting past of the nations to their future. The six hundred years of the Ottoman Empire has dominated many geographical areas and the clothing worn by people living in these geographies is also noted for its diversity and features.
The aim of this study is to examine the clothes of the boys in different provinces of the Ottoman Empire between 1850 and 1923 yeras. For this purpose, photographs in the literature and purchased from collectors have been used as material in the study. The characteristics of the clothes of the forty - one boys in fourteen different provinces have been represented in this study.
At the end of study; ıt is pointed out that there are differences in the types of clothes of boys living in the Balkan, Anatolia and Asia provinces. Also it has been seen that socio - economic differences in the Ottoman period were reflected in the boys’ clothes.
