Abstract

With the invention of dyeing with mordant from 4500 BC, plants, dye insects and seashells found in nature began to be used as a dye source and were used until the chemical synthesis of natural dye pigments in 1856 Today, natural life trends have become important again. Humanity has to protect nature in the best way in the polluted world and make use of it sustainably. The production of dyestuffs without harming human health and ecology is an issue that needs to be focused on.

In this study, the application of the recipes created by Mustafa Genç, who works with academic and traditional methods in the field of natural dyeing and develops unique dyeing methods, on silk fabrics and fastness tests was discussed. For the first time, age and dry friction fastnesses were determined and examined on the prescriptions introduced into the literature.

Süleyman Demirel University (S.D.Ü) Dry and wet friction fastness values were made in the Textile Engineering Laboratory and evaluated comparatively.

The research was carried out using quantitative and qualitative research methods. The literature review was carried out with face-to-face interviews and laboratory study methods. The studies with the highest fastness value of the laboratory studies are included in this article. As a result of the study, the fact that the fastness values of the applied recipes are very high when compared with the previous studies in the literature reveals the importance of the study. In addition, when the literature to date has been reviewed, it has been seen that dyestuffs are generally used alone or with two different methods. However, in our study, it was determined that Mustafa Genç used many dyestuffs that gave the same and different colors by mixing, and the fastness values were very high.
