Abstract

National anthems embody the culture, spirit and concepts of the nations to which they belong. In addition, every word used in the anthems, guiding us to draw the cultural map of that nation. When the national anthems of the Turkish republics are examined, the concept map that emerges is quite rich. This is undoubtedly related to the socio-political, geographical or cultural conditions experienced by Turkish tribes. Nation, national spirit, freedom, wars are symbolized by national anthems and are effective in providing nations with ontological consciousness. In addition, anthems are regarded as an indicator of dignity among the nations to which they belong. In this context, when we consider the National Anthem and Ant Etkenmen marches, we will encounter many concepts with a common semantic universe.
When we examine the anthems we have dealt with, there are important points that we will focus on, especially the struggle, the concept of a people who have come out of war, the concept of nation, the martyrs and Islamic thought. In our study, we will explain the national anthems of the two Turkish Republics from a conceptual perspective and explain their common elements. In addition, we will apply a comparative method of study by considering the two anthems with the denominator of emotion and thought.
