COMPLIANCE WITH CORPORATE GOVERNANCE PRINCIPLES OF CAPITAL MARKET BOARD - A SECTORAL ASSESSMENT

Abstract

The Capital Markets Board has determined corporate governance principles that can be applied to all joint stock companies by taking into account the practices in the world. The compliance of the companies with corporate governance principles is evaluated and graded by the rating agencies determined by the Capital Markets Board. At the same time, companies with an average compliance score are included in the Istanbul Stock Exchange Corporate Governance Index (XKURY).
In this article, it is emphasized that corporate governance and performance effectiveness of companies will increase if corporate governance principles are followed. Corporate Governance Principles issued by the Capital Markets Board are focused on and the BIST Corporate Governance Index was examined. In this context, BIST Corporate Governance Index was examined. The ratings of the aviation companies listed in the Corporate Governance Index, which are listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE), were reviewed and sectoral evaluation was conducted.
