Abstract

The basic concept of aesthetic concept is beautiful. However, many concepts opposite and close to each other are also examined in aesthetics. In this research, the concepts which aesthetic concept implies are emphasized. Purpose of the research; Visual Arts is to reveal how the Teacher Candidates explain the perceptions they have about the concept of "aesthetics" through which metaphors. Research Visual Arts Education is seen as important in terms of the development of the aesthetics-related course content which will reveal the perceptions of aesthetics about the students and the basic subjects of this field in this context. The problem of the research is; What kind of perception does the Visual Arts Teacher Candidates have about the concept of "aesthetics"? In the study, case study model was used as qualitative research methods. Participants of the study consisted of 50 students from Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University, Department of Painting and Work Education, 3rd and 4th class. A form has been prepared as a data tool for the problem of the research. As used in other metaphors, "It is like aesthetics. Because "........................ .." a written form consisting of two cumulatively used. Students are also asked to fill in these gaps. Content analysis was used in the analysis of the research data. It is observed that 50th metaphors belonging to 50 students related to the concept of "aesthetics" are seen in 3rd and 4th year students in Department of Arts and Teaching. In these metaphors, students were grouped under 8 categories based on the reasons they were promoted. As a result, the concept of aesthetic finds a direct or indirect relationship with aesthetics by visual arts teacher candidates. In addition to showing that the concept of aesthetics is not a single expression, it also reveals the richness of the concept
