This research was conducted with the purpose of determining life positions of individuals in the probation system and fullfill their obligations in Ankara Probation Directorate. In the scope of the study, information about socio-demographic status, socio-economic status, family, crime and substance use history, mental health, exposed to violence, childhood experience, criminal case and substance use status of families, relatives, peers and probation process of 521 individuals under probation in Ankara Probation Directorate have been obtained.
It was determined that there is a significant difference in the life positions of the individuals according to education level, marital status, having children,working in paid work, social assurance, family structure, Social environment, growth with family, education level of parents, childhood, psychological disorder, suicide attempt, substance use among friends, duration of substance use.
It was determined that there is no significant difference in the life positions of the individuals according to age, education level, maternal education status, substance use among relatives, crime type, duration of probation. As a result of this study, a framework for using of transactional analysis in professional practices and repetitive crime prevention programs in probation system is developed.
