In this research, it was aimed to reveal the attitudes of Turkish teacher candidates towards reading in terms of various variables. The research was conducted according to the "descriptive scanning model". Participants of the study were the 194 students studying at the Turkish Language Teaching Department of Dicle University Ziya Gökalp Education Faculty during the spring semester of 2016-2017 academic year. In the study, Reading Attitude Scale for Teacher Candidates developed by Sarar Kuzu and Doğan (2015) was used to determine the attitude of participants to reading. As a result of the research, it was determined that the attitudes of the Turkish teacher candidates towards reading were "high level". According to gender variable, the level of reading attitudes of female students was found to be statistically higher than male students. There are no statistically significant differences between grade, parental education level, library presence, follow-up periodicals and reading attitudes of teacher candidates.
