HISTORICAL AND SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT PROCESS OF GÜLBAHARHATUN-HIZIRBEY NEIGHBORHOOD OF TRABZON

Abstract

The neighborhoods of Gülbaharhatun and Hızırbey neighborhoods which are adjacent to the historical texture of the city of Trabzon; not only is it located at the intersection of historic touches reflecting the identity of the city, but also provides an identity / image of the area with the important trade axes and transportation arteries at the intersection of the historical period. In addition, the study area which is in the transition zone between the city center and the development area is in the phase of impregnation with a sub-center identity and there is a functional spatial transformation process due to this development. it is aimed to investigate the morphological development process of the land use which is made in the neighborhoods of Gülbaharhatun and Hızırbey neighborhoods determined as a study area in order to investigate how the historical document of the city and its reflection witnessed change / transformation in centuries. According to this; It has been examined how the city is shaped under the influence of the cultural fictions and perceptions of the historical monument of the city of Trabzon and cultural values in the historical process.
