Abstract

This research has meticuluously analyzed the Turkish translation of the figurative language that the novel “New Cairo” entails, within the context of Vinay and Darbelnet and Toury’s translation theories. The fundamental argument of this essay is to vindicate the fact that in order for a translation criticism or analysis to be considered thoroughly academic, it is mandatory for the analysis to entail theoretical framework. The methodology of this essay is literature review. The findings which have been obtained are provided in the conclusion part
