Abstract

The aim of this study is to review national articles and thesis published between 2006-2016 about 5E learning cycle model. Only the 5E learning cycle model was included in this study from learning cycle model, 4E, and then the 5E learning cycle models arising from the application of the constructivist approach in education. The study is a research based document analysis. In this sense the study covered researches of 5E learning cycle model that can be accessed in the Google schoolar, ULAKBIM and CHC Thesis Center databases. The data were obtained by classification form developed by researchers. In line with the purpose, studies were analyzed according to different themes given in the classification form in terms of type of publication, year of publication, field of study, field of discipline, topic, method and type of research, sample level and size, data collection tool and analysis method. The reliability of codes was ensured by establishing consensus for studies coded separately by the researchers. Tables and graphs with were used to present the results of the study. It is thought that the current analysis will provide insights to researchers as it reveals trends in 5E learning cycle model in science education
