Abstract

This research aims to determine the risk situations faced by the school administrators working in primary education scholl and
their opinions about the ways in which they manage these risk situations. The study group of the study consisted of 50 school
administrators working in different school types in the central districts of Kahramanmaraş province in 2016-2017 academic
year. The data were collected through a semi-structured interview form. In this study, which was developed by using
phenomenology, one of the qualitative method designs, the data were identified using content analysis. As a result of the study,
it was determined that the school administrators who participated in the research generally had 11-20 years seniority, 21-30
years seniority and 6-10 years seniority and most of them were male. The school principals who participated in the research
consisted mainly of classroom teachers and undergraduate graduate managers. The school administrators who participated in

the process of risk identification. According to the results of the study, they took measures after the negativities experienced,

administrators who participated in the research achieved good level of risk management. The majority of the school
administrators who participated in the research stated that they did not find the studies done in the school sufficient.
