Abstract

Women's participation in economic life and the ways and measures of social and economic development are not directly
proportional. In this respect, women from disadvantaged segments of the society are among the groups most exposed to the
risk of unemployment. Women's employment, which is one of the important criteria showing the level of development of
countries, plays a key role in sustainable development and is also important for achieving social transformation in the context
of achieving gender equality.
The projects carried out by Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) aiming at increasing the employment of women, which
make up about half of the country's population, have positive results. Civil Society Organizations (NGOs), which are
indispensable for democratic societies, can be defined as a type of organization that aims to influence the political will by
creating public agenda in order to protect the interests of the society voluntarily and without any expectation of interest. NGOs
aiming to find effective and long-term solutions to social problems take steps to eliminate discrimination and inequality that
women are exposed to in the labor market as well as in education, culture and social life.
In this study, social responsibility projects realized by NGOs in order to raise awareness about the employment of women in
our country are examined by content analysis method.
