Abstract

The strategic importance of political public relations activities for political parties, bring about new approaches as well. Today, political public relations activities are sustained effectively through social media besides traditional communication tools. The aim of this study is to determine the place of social media in the studies of political public relations and to demonstrate the purpose of use it by political parties and to detect the level of interaction of political parties with their followers on social media. In this context, official social media accounts of the first five political parties, which entering in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, on the General Elections of June 24, will be subjected to content analysis. Thus, findings will be interpreted and the purpose of the use of social media of political parties in this election period and the level of interaction with their followers will be determined and an overall evaluation of the results will be presented
