AN INVESTIGATION ON THE LITERATURE WORKS IN THE SECONDARY SCHOOL SOCIAL STUDIES TEXTBOOKS

Abstract

The aim of this study is to reveal what kind of written and oral literary works are included in the secondary school social studies textbooks. In the research, ıt was benefited from document analysis method which is one of the qualitative data collection methods. The data obtained from the study were analyzed according to the stages of the document analysis method. When the results of the research are evaluated in general, It seen that in all learning areas, except the People, Places and Environment learning area, in the 5th and 6th grade social studies textbook are included short stories designed for the book, poetry, sample of moment, concise words, short biographies, samples of saga; In all other learning areas, except Global Links, in the 7th grade social studies textbook included the literatüre works such as concise words, story, biography, poetry and research articles.
