READING OKTAY RIFAT’S POEM “AYNA, LAMBA VE GECE”BY THE LINGUISTIC METHODOLOGY

Oktay Rifat is known as one of three important associates of Garip poetry community with his friends Orhan Veli and Melih Oktay Rifat is known as one of three important associates of Garip poetry community with his friends Orhan Veli and Melih Cevdet. However, he changed his poetry style radically after the Garip, and acquired a modern poetic expression which is based on image and language. In this study, one of Oktay Rifat’s last periods poems, “Ayna, Lamba ve Gece” that open to different connotations, is analyzed by the linguistic method. This poem takes places in “Kapı” subtitle in book of Çobanıl Şiirler which was published in 1976, and it can be named as the “açık yapıt” (“opera aperta”). There is an important question in here: What kind of meanings that we have in this poem which has different interpretations and images universe? In this analyze, we tried to find a right answer this question by the methodical and of course logical reading
