A RESEARCH ON NOWADAYS MUSIC CULTURE IN TURKEY

Abstract

The music is one of the most basic and most important assets of a society and a nation. About the history of that community presents information with sounds, rhythms, melody structures and melodic patterns. It helps to carry the not only musical items but also other cultural elements. Today our music culture has to adapt to the changing world, slowly losing traces of the past and unfortunately it does not pass of popular current wind. Current music culture has become a part of imitation and visual materials by losing its Turkish music feature with the structure moving away from the self-structure. Today are not exercised works carrying quality melody and words in the Turkish folk music and art music that our basic music culture is ours. New works has turned into a confusion lost in 2/4 rhythms, 4 line sentence in the sense of a slogan and circulating between 4-5 sounds. Besides, these works served with video clips offer of media organizations and is studied to be given specific messages using visual elements a lot of music. In this study originally has been tried to be examined musical quality, potential in educational settings and the media of contemporary music culture. In this direction have been made some suggestions in the media listening to music and at educational institutions to take certain precautions the name of protecting our own music culture
