EXAMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING AND EMPATHIC TENDENCY LEVELS FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

The purpose of this study examination of the relationship between subjective well-being and empathic tendency levels for university students. In line with the aim of working the universe of the study is Istanbul University Developmental School of Physical Education and Sports and Fine Arts Faculty 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students, sample is determined by simple random sampling method (n=529) volunteer participants. In the study, data were collected using the survey methodology, the connected model has been applied. Participatory personal information form, subjective well-being scale developed by Dost (2005) and empathic tendency scale developed by Dökmen (1988) were applied. the obtained data was recorded with SPSS 23 programme. Statistical analysis used correlation and regression analysis.
As a result, it is clear that the subjective well-being and empathic tendencies of university students are at a good level, there is a moderately positive relationship between the empathic tendency and subjective well-being and it was found that the level of empathic tendency was predictive of "subjective well-being" and explained about %26 of the total variance.
This situation should be aware of the conditions in university students, emotional empathy, and emotional awareness are influenced by positive, negative emotions and thoughts found in living standards.
