Abstract

One of the most basic questions is that tourism researchers are constantly looking for is to understand why people are having a holiday. This seemingly simple question of the motivation of humans to behave differently is taking long time and keeping busy of tourism researchers and academics. The reality which is underlying in this subject is social psychology. The first stage is the need for humans to travel and in this regard the choice is regarded of the individual. As individuals have many influences on travel, they are rarely free to decide. In every case opportunities and limitations need to interact jointly so that individuals can decide to choose. There are many motivation factors that people to satisfy themselves with their travel desires. In this study, the role and importance of tourism, tourist and staff motivations, the theories and models in consumer motivation, the distinguishing characteristics of motivating factors are examined.
