Abstract

Health is a sector where highly developed technological equipments are used although it is in the service sector. Medical devices and equipment are very important for the delivery of quality healthcare. At the same time it brings high health expenditures. Decision-makers strive for a balance between providing quality healthcare and providing a sustainable economy. Determining the price of the medical device is one of the important steps for reaching the device to the patient. In recent years, the effect of the value of the medical device on the price has become more important in the health sector due to the increased expenditures. This study aims to give information by literature review about medical device pricing and pricing strategies which is adopted by countries. Differences can be seen in the medical device sector depending on the level of development of the countries and the technology usage. These differences are accompanied by different pricing methods
