Abstract

Rapid changes in economic, social and social conditions increase the stress levels of individuals. Especially at the beginning of their professional career, the future concerns of university students, cause the stress level to increase further. Environmental factors and personality traits also have both positive and negative effects on stress. The aim of this research is to investigate whether there is a relationship between the demographic characteristics of university students and career stress. The universe of the research is composed of the students of the Executive Assistant Program of Office Management in Kocaeli Vocational School. The sample of the research is 105 university students selected by chance method. The questionnaire was asked about the career stress scale consisting of 20 questions and 8 demographic characteristics. Analyzes in the study were analyzed using the SPSS 21 program. The significance level used in the analyzes is 0,05. Significant relationships were found between demographic variables and some career stress factors. According to the results of the research, it was found that the career uncertainty and lack of information stress were high in favor of women. Also, as the income increased, the level of career uncertainty and lack of information stress decreased
