INVESTIGATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COLLECTIVE TEACHER EFFICACY AND SCHOOL CULTURE: THE CASE OF ELAZIĞ PROVINCE

In this study, the relationship between collective teacher efficacy and school culture was investigated. The research universe of the study includes high school teachers working in the central district of Elazığ province in the 2017-2018 academic year. In the study, a sample of 405 high school teachers determined by random sampling method was formed. Collective Teacher Efficacy Scale and School Culture Scale were used as data collection tools. According to the results of the study, it is seen that there is a positive and moderate relationship between high school teachers' perceptions of collective teacher efficacy and perceptions of school culture and it is observed that the number of teachers' opinions on school culture scale increase and the collective efficacy of teachers also increases. According to the results of regression analysis, it was found that school culture is an important predictor of collective teacher efficacy. According to the findings of the study, there is no evidence of whether teachers' collective efficacy levels differ significantly according to their demographic characteristics (gender and professional seniority). Suggestions were given to the practitioners according to the results of the study
