GENERAL VIEW ON CANADIAN (ONTARIO) EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

Abstract

Canada is one of the countries that made progress in the educational field in recent years. Canada ranked within the first twelve countries in each field of the 2018 PISA exam (Mathematics, Science, and Reading). Ontario is one of the twelve states and one of three autonomous districts in Canada. In Ontario where the educational system is local like the other states in Canada, 3 universities in the top 100 worldwide are located. In this study, which was created by using the literature review technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods, firstly basic information was given about the Canadian educational system. Then, the educational system of Ontario State was examined in a detailed way. In this study, the data about the school grades of Ontario, the school types, the economical and executive structure of the education, inspection of education, teacher training systems, adult education, special education applications, and program development studies were gathered. With the findings that were acquired as a result of the research. Various inferences were found by comparing the Turkish educational system and Ontario educational system was compared, and the advantages and disadvantages of these two systems and the differences and resemblances between these two educational systems were revealed.
