Abstract

With the realization that environmental problems reach the level that will destroy the ecosystem, the idea of environmental protection has been included in the agenda of international politics and at the same time the theoretical foundations of environmental policy have been expanded. The idea of sustainable development has been one of the basic principles of environmental policy with the focus of discussions on the balance between development and the environment, and the theoretical infrastructure of this principle has been constituted with the concept of environmental policy integration, which refers to the integration of the environment into other policies. This concept also refers to the internalization of environmental protection from human thought, behavior and actions to many areas such as legal rules, cultural and social structure. In this context, the conceptual and content analysis of environmental policy integration will be done and the reflection to the current policy, institutions and legislation in Turkey will be discussed in this paper
