Abstract

Local governments have been established to meet the needs of local community members living on a specific geographical area. Local services regarding economic, social and cultural riches are carried out by their general authority in line with their own responsibilities. Local governments are important and indispensable units of public administration. With the increase in population resulting from rapid urbanization and the migration have increased the number of services provided by local governments. Local governments need to have regular financial resources in order to be able to carry out their tasks and maintain their presence. The fulfillment of local quality services, primarily municipal services, and the addition of new types of services to these areas are becoming increasingly necessary. Such investments will affect the standard of living. For this reason, a strong financial structure for local governments has become the most important factor. In this study, the sections of "Financial Information and Explanations Related to the Financial Tables" included in the activity reports prepared by Selçuklu Municipality were evaluated by being subjected to a comparison.
