Abstract

In this study it is aimed that to investigate the success situation of the students who has taken piano accompaniment lesson by the help of some variables such as graduated high school, gender and individual instrument category. Data for the study (success grades of the lesson, demographic information) has been obtained from the department information system of the relevant university by having required permissions. Success grades of the students has been grouped as fall and spring semester and transferred into computer system. After obtaining the information about variables (graduated high school, gender, individual information groups) from the department information system, comparisons has been made by using statistical process. In statistical process parametric measurements have been preferred because of the data are have normal distribution. For the instrument group variance one way variance analysis and for the high school and gender variance independent sample t test has been preferred. According to the findings obtained at the end of the study it is understood that success situation of the candidate students in piano accompaniment lesson is significant at graduated high school level and is not significant at gender and instrument group level.
