NATURE SPORTS AND TOURISTIC POTENTIAL IN THE SAMPLE OF GÜMÜŞHANE

Abstract

Nature sports include all the activities in the natural landscape and natural environment carried out with the help of a material for leisure or sports or without using materials. Trekking (hiking), rock climbing, camping, hunting, mountaineering, cycling, paragliding, rafting and nature photography are among the activities that can be mentioned at this point. Almost all of Gümüşhane province is a destination for nature sports. While the general structure of the province shows mountainous features, it's differentiated land structure offers possibilities for rock climbing, bicycle tour and hiking.
In this study, natural sports and touristic potential are considered in Gümüşhane context. In the establishment of the scientific direction of the study, information from provincial directorate of tourism, and articles, interviews and anecdotes that were published in the form of written and visual publications were used. The findings show that it is possible to demonstrate the unlimited potential of the region by carrying out a general feasibility study with very simple measures using the available opportunities.
