Abstract

Piezo is a Greek word and it means compressing, applying pressure. Piezoelectricity is the ability to change the electric field or electrical potential of a material as a result of mechanical pressure applied to some material. The polarization density in the material depends on the applied pressure and the size of the piezoelectric material. As a result of the pressure exerted material becomes either short circuit or a voltage is generated. Piezoelectric materials have a reversible structure. There are many uses like sound generation and perception, voltage generation, etc. In recent years textile and fashion design; electrical-electronics engineering, computer engineering, bioengineering, agriculture, etc. other branches of science have been involved in multidisciplinary study together. Along with the use of new technologies and new materials, innovative solutions have begun to be produced in addition to traditional production methods in textiles. In this area, a lot of work is carried out at home and abroad. One of the most important of the works done is the intelligent textiles field, which is a subclass of technical textiles. Smart textiles are used in construction, medicine, space, agriculture, and so on. They have many application areas. In this study, the application of piezoelectric textile, which is an intelligent textile application, is mentioned. In cooperation with the electrical and electronics department, the circuit was designed using piezoelectric sensors and the voltage was obtained. The voltage obtained is converted to electricity and provided visually by LEDs. One of the most important elements of fashion in design is the aesthetic front panel. As a result of the study, a piezoelectric applied shoe design was realized. Experiments of the designed shoe were carried out and the results were summarized. This product differs from other products in that it addresses both children and does not need any energy storage unit (battery, etc.).
