The general purpose of this study is to identify possible problems that family businesses may experience during the rigor mortis process and to determine solution suggestions. The sub-objective of the study is to determine the effects of the rigor mortis process sub-dimensions on family businesses. In this study, due to the fact that family businesses will be examined during the rigor mortis process, it is designed as a descriptive model. In the study, the survey was conducted with a total of 1,500 people including 347 family companies operating in the province of Kahramanmaras, 347 people working as managers in these businesses, 347 people working as business owners, and 806 people working as employees. A "rigor mortis scale" was developed by Fettahlıoğlu and Birin (2017), which has a total of 30 questions and consists of three basic sub-dimensions, in order to obtain data in the study. According to the findings, it was observed that there is a significant positively moderate statistic correlation between the environmental factors, the incompatibility and the harmful positive perceptivity variables, which are subcomponents of rigor mortis. In this study where the general problems of family businesses are tried to be identified in the rigor mortis process, it was concluded that the incompatibility with the environmental factors, the dominance of the positively perceiving the general situation behavior is the biggest problem seen in family businesses and the possible solution suggestions are presented.
