Abstract

In this study it is aimed that to teach instrument and instrument groups subject to the secondary school seventh grade students by using 5E model. An activity has been prepared considering the “distinguish the instruments and instrument groups” gain that is stated in secondary school seventh grade curriculum. Work group of the study is consists from 7/A and 7/B classes from Atatürk secondary school in Araklı district of Trabzon. 7/A class has been used as experimental group, 7/B class has been used as control group into the study. While classic method is used with control group, 5E method application is used with experimental group. Obtained data has been statistically investigated by using comparing measurements. A smart board activity consist of questions about the instrument recognizing and student evaluation form has been used as a data collecting process. At the end of the study it is observed that experimental group is more successful than the control group.
