EXAMINATION OF THE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN ADOLESCENTS’ SUBJECTIVE WELL BEING AND SELF ESTEEM

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among adolescents’ subjective well being self-esteem. This study is a correlational study. A total of 349 (192 female and 157 male) participants who were adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18 were included in the study. t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation and Lineer Regression Analysis were used to analyze the data. In this study, an extended version of objective measure of Rosenberg self-esteem scale, subjective well being were used. Findings indicated that self esteem were related with adolescents’ subjective well being. Adolescents’ subjective well being did not differ based on gender. When adolescents have higher level of self esteem their subjective well-being level increases. Moreover, if adolescents have higher socioeconomic level, their subjective well-being level decreases
