Abstract

In this study, the master's theses on in-service training in the field of education were studied. The aim of the study is to investigate the distribution of postgraduate theses written on in-service training according to years, gender, types, universities, research methods, sample size, research designs, measurement tools and data analysis techniques. It is thought that the study will be important in terms of seeing the point reached in the field of in-service training in the process and guiding the studies to be done in the future. The model of the study is the descriptive content analysis technique. According to the results of the research, examining the theses on in-service training, it was seen that men did more work in this field than women. When the distribution of studies is examined, it is seen that the number of studies on in-service training has increased in recent years. When the distribution of these is examined, it is seen that the number of graduate studies is higher. In most of the studies on in-service training, it is seen that the sample group is public and private sector employees, and the quantitative method is preferred as the research method. When we look at the research designs used in the studies, it was seen that the survey design in quantitative research, the case in qualitative research and the experimental design in mixed research were used more. Scales and questionnaires were mostly used as data collection tools in theses written about in-service training. In general, t-tests, content analysis, and ANOVA were used in data analysis in theses. The fact that the t-test and Anova analyzes were used excessively shows that the comparative analyzes are overdone. Content analysis was mostly preferred in qualitative data analysis.
