The National Folklore Journal, which is published four times a year in Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, aims to publish the Intangible Cultural Heritage (SOKÜM) and folklore studies in Turkey and other Turkish countries, and to bring these studies from local to national, from national to the universal level. In this research, 576 articles published between 2009-2019 in the National Folklore Journal, which has been published for up to 33 years since 1989, were examined. In this context, answers to the following questions were sought:
1) What is the status of the number of male and female authors in the articles published in the National Folklore Journal? 2) What is the double authorship status of the articles published in the National Folklore Journal? 3) What is the gender status of the authors in the articles written on issues concerning women? 4) What is the percentage value of the articles written by women in terms of gender roles?
Of the articles published in the National Folklore journal, 51% were co-authored by men, 46% by women, and 3% by both male and female researchers. There are 67 articles written on issues concerning women in the National Folklore magazine. Of these, 92% were women, 5% were men, and 3% were written by both male and female researchers.
