Abstract

The art of typography is an aesthetic, conceptual, and original design field in order to affect visual perception by using symbols and signs in terms of communication, information, message, or idea. The artist, who uses the typefaces by creating size, thickness, moderation, color harmony, and balance, creates a difference according to his ability with the aim of creating an image. The color that the selected typographic elements add to the art of painting and the movement it gives to the used image adds value to the designed work. The characteristic feature that makes the work different, creates a rich rhythm and harmony in pictorial expression, in terms of order and structure. The artist creates original forms with different combinations by reinforcing his work with typographic elements.

The typographic characters placed in the pictures are evaluated in terms of harmony, balance, and rhythm, and require optical view and perception on the basis of science. When the form and size of the typographic texture are used as a complement to the picture visual, the design transforms into a new form. Each letter used in the picture requires a separate combination and solution. While integrating point, pica, and unit thicknesses with the painting, a style that prioritizes proportional relations and aesthetic concerns are created in a way that does not disturb the eye. Aiming to add different feelings and thoughts to the painting, the artist strengthens the aesthetic structure, enriches the content, and incorporates semantic depth into his work. The use of typefaces by paying attention to aesthetic concerns without spoiling the whole picture; while giving difference, originality, and identity to the visual, strengthens the aesthetic sense of the structure in the work.
