Turkish The fact that fabric manipulation (textile ornamentation) techniques applied on woven textile materials are effective in creating different surfaces and offer a wide range of applications on the human body or in plastic arts has paved the way for an increased interest in textiles by artists. Since the industrial revolution, weaving surfaces that have gained dimension with manipulation methods have strengthened the unity of art and fashion in different purposes and forms by enabling textile and fashion to be interpreted within the concept of art. The fact that designers gain dimension and appearance by applying different techniques to the textile surface has been an effective tool in expressing their imagination, conceptually strengthened, and reflecting the curious aesthetic perception of their designs. In this study, the techniques used in fabric manipulations were investigated and classified. By limiting the manipulation techniques which have a wide range of applications, 'manipulation methods with sewing technique; ruffle, flounce, pleat and ribbing' were applied on cotton fabrics; poplin, calico and flannel by trial method and the result was tried to be evaluated. Qualitative research methods were used in the study in which document review and applied research techniques were used.
