Abstract

Renewable resources are environmentally friendly, local, environmentally clean and inexhaustible energy sources that can be used as an alternative to fossil fuels. Renewable energy is becoming increasingly important due to the decrease in fossil resources in the world and the negative effects of global warming on the environment. Although the use of renewable energy by countries is increasing, it cannot be used as much as fossil fuels.

The use of renewable energy sources in power generation may require high initial investment costs, as the technologies in this field are still not mature enough. For this reason, countries apply various financial incentives and public financing instruments to support renewable energy production. In this study, the concept and importance of renewable energy and the fiscal incentives and public financing instruments applied for the development of renewable energy will be discussed.
