Abstract

In this study, the Turkish press between 1980 and 1993 was examined. Within the scope of the study, the historical process of the press in Turkey from the September 12 Military Intervention to 1993 was discussed. The effects of the September 12 Military Intervention on the press and press freedom issues were examined. In this context, the problems of the press profession, professional organizations and press members are mentioned. Finally, the subjects of democracy, press, politics and change between 1980-1993 were also mentioned.
