Life and Art of The Mucur Artist Alı̇ Rıza Güney

Abstract

This research aims to determine the life of Ali Rıza Güney, a local artist of Mucur, and his contributions to musical art. For this purpose, the influences of Ali Rıza Güney in his artistic life, his compositions, compilations, his works included in the Turkish Folk Music (THM) repertoire of the Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) institution, his works read by different artists and his performer aspect will be discussed. Ali Rıza Güney's contributions to Mucur's music culture were revealed. The qualitative research method and the model of literature review were used in the study. The research included the authentication of notes, books, archival files, music, video, audio and photographs. In addition, Ali Rıza Güney's daughter, Emel Taşçıoğlu, a retired TRT THM singer, was interviewed about the life and artistic personality of her father. As a result of the information obtained, it was determined that Ali Rıza Güney has an important place in the Turkish folk music culture of the Mucur region as a cultural transmitter.
