Abstract

Although the actual use of illustrative ceramic applications goes back to prehistoric times, sometimes ceramics and illustration are perceived as two unrelated branches of art. However, the illustrative point of view, which makes its presence felt in many visual fields, has had a great impact on the art of ceramics. It continues to progress by intertwining with the ceramic art of illustration, which is expanding its sphere of influence day by day and putting into practice new usage methods, materials, and applications.

With the innovations brought by the age of technology, the importance of the illustrative perspective increases, and a contemporary understanding of illustration is formed. Illustration has long abandoned its place under the discipline of painting and has begun to make itself visible in many areas of the modern world.

The aim of this study is to explain the content of the illustrative point of view and explain how it interacts with the art of ceramics. In the study, information will be given about the ceramic works produced with an illustrative approach, then some ceramic artists from the world and Turkey who produce illustrative ceramic designs will be mentioned and examples of some of the works of these artists will be given
