ANALYSIS OF MUSIC TEACHER CANDIDATES RECOGNIZING THE TERMS OF MUSICAL EXPRESSIONS

The aim of this study is to examine the success level of music teacher candidates in recognizing musical expression terms. In this research in the screening model, as a data collection tool, a success scale was developed by taking expert opinions by the researcher. The developed success scale was applied to 776 music teacher candidates in 8 universities after obtaining the necessary permissions. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the overall success of the music teacher candidates was sufficient. The music teacher candidates were classified according to the types of high schools they graduated from and it was observed that the students who graduated from high schools with music backgrounds are more successful than the others. Also, it's concluded that the students who are classified according to their undergraduate levels continue their education processes by improving each year. When the music teacher candidates were classified according to instrument groups, it was concluded that those who played the Western Music instrument were more successful than the students who played the Turkish Music instrument
