Abstract

This study aims to examine the Covid-19 perceptions of individuals between the ages of 14-64 through metaphor analysis. In the study, there are a total of 230 participants, 57 (24.8%) male, 173 (75.2%) girls/ female, from different occupational groups aged between 14 and 64. A total of 16 of the participants, 3 boys and 13 girls, are under the age of 18. In the study, personal information form and metaphor form were used as data collection tools.  According to the qualitative findings obtained as a result of the research, a total of 137 metaphors were obtained from 230 people. It has been seen that the Covid-19 process metaphors are grouped under nine categories: “uncertainty”, “desperation”, “restriction”, “uncontrollability”, “isolation”, “awareness”, “development / transformation”, “new lifestyle”, “testing”. When the reasons for the metaphors are examined; It is observed that the participants try to cope with different emotions and situations in an uncertain process that they cannot control, and try to protect surrounding individuals. In addition, it is stated that they evaluate this process positively, work on their development and gain awareness.
