Abstract

Games are an important part of our life. Well-designed games are a good source of motivation. With the development of technology, games have been digitized and played by large audiences. This situation brought the usage of some features of the games in different areas. The use of game features in non-game areas is called gamification. Although the game is an old concept, gamification is a new concept that has emerged in recent years. The concept of gamification, which is used in many fields, has become a widespread issue in the field of education in recent years. The gamification method is aimed to teach the educational contents by using the students' interest in the game. The aim of the research is to examine the gamification applications used in the e-learning environment. The design of the research is document analysis which is a qualitative research method. Document analysis is the examination of written materials containing information about a research topic. Document analysis is a research method used when interviewing or observing is not possible. Within the scope of the study, the concept of gamification and gamification applications used in the e-learning environment in the literature were examined by scanning the literature. It is thought that the study will guide the researchers who want to use the gamification method.
