Abstract

Research Problem: Health Information Systems in Turkey have developed rapidly since 2003. In this process of change, it is important to determine the level of knowledge of health informatics students who will take part in the health sector.

Purpose of the Study: To examine whether the level of knowledge of university students about the health information system is meaningful according to certain demographic variables.

Method: The quantitative research model was used in this study. A questionnaire prepared by the researchers to measure the health information systems knowledge level of the students was applied. The universe of the study consists of Ankara University Faculty of Health Sciences students. The quota sampling method was chosen because it was difficult to reach all students, and a questionnaire was applied to 20 students from each department and each class. All analyzes were made with SPSS 17.0 program.

Results: It was determined that the students knew and used e-pulse, Public Health Management System, and Health Information Systems applications the most. In general, the results of the survey show that the departments are knowledgeable and used about the Central Physician Appointment System/Alo 182 (MHRS). According to the findings obtained from the research, there is an increase in the use of information technologies by students.
