Abstract

Because the works in music production and technologies which are written in Turkish are relatively few compared to other essays about the music field, and especially the literature about these fields mostly in English; In this work, the history of music production and some improvements about music technologies are explained briefly for contributing to the Turkish literature about these fields. From the invention of the phonograph by Edison, the inventions and important improvements in the music production history are tried to be explained. In this timeline, this essay covers the improvements in the invention of the gramophone, flat disc, magnetic tape recorder, and so on. On the other hand, the technological improvements in the microphones-record industry and their effects on the music production traditions are covered. Additionally, the effects of technological improvements on producers, audio engineers, and musicians are tried to be examined. And a dispute about the socio -economic aspects of music production; Earnings and loss caused by sociological events which music production sector is affected are tried to be covered as much as possible. Additionally to historical events, this work covers a sociological debate using a political-economical scope. Lastly, this essay covers small ideation about how technological facilities can help to music sector to fight a global pandemic. Considering that there are deficiencies in Turkish literature about music production and technologies, this essay is written in the intention of fill this gap as much as possible.
