The aim of this study is to examine relations between chıidren using the substance at 13-18 years old and their parents. The qualitative research method was used as the substance use experiences of children aged 13-18 who are drug-addicted and their relationships with their parents were examined in depth within the scope of the research. In this research, the phenomenology pattern, which is among the qualitative research models aiming to investigate the known but not fully understood facts, was used. Substance use experiences, parental relations, and perceptions towards parents of children who use substances were tried to be examined in detail. Semi-structured interview form and personal information form used in qualitative research were used as data collection tools in the research. The interview form included information about the demographic characteristics of the children, their substance use experiences, and their parental relationships and perceptions. The data obtained from the children within the scope of the research were evaluated by the content analysis method, after being written down and with the observation notes of the researcher. Concepts and categories from children's expressions were separated as codes. Participant codes were determined according to the categories created and the findings were explained with quotations and observation notes. It was revealed that negative attitudes and behaviors of family members towards the child are exhibited with the child's onset of substance use. Due to the problems experienced by the child, problems such as the deterioration of family communication and the need for health, education, and support of the substance-addicted individual have emerged. Therefore, the presence of an addicted individual in the family negatively affected the roles in the family, the structure of the family, and family relations.
