Abstract

This study, it is aimed to reveal a group of travel agencies’ crisis experience operating in Turkey concerning the crisis experienced before the Covid-19 and with the Covid-19 crisis. In this context, the basic qualitative research method, which is a way of learning a social reality, which is a method used to discover social facts and to reveal the meanings people attribute to events and situations, was used. In the study, the purposeful sampling method, expressing a deliberately chosen group of people from whom the researcher would obtain the best information for the research problem she was examining was used.26 travel agencies that have experienced a crisis before Covid-19 and the Covid-19 crisis in Turkey, were taken into representative samples. The structured analysis method was used in analyzing the data. The data obtained within the scope of the study showed that the agency representatives apply some strategies during the crisis rather than the pre-crisis period. Although the participants have witnessed different crises before Covid-19, the crisis in tourism-related to Covid-19 affected the agency representatives very much. Although some of the participants took some measures in their own way to cope with the crisis, they were insufficient. Participants need more support from the authorities
