The pluralistic approaches of abstract expressionist artists within the formalist pursuits of modern art have contributed greatly to the diversification of the abstract's formal language. The aforementioned approaches, which emerged in the developmental stages of the form understanding of abstract art, tended to determine the conditions under which non-figurative painting began to become abstract more than the other.
The creativity of the artists in their search for form, together with the knowledge in their search for knowledge, creates more decisive principles in abstract art. At this point, the creativity in the approaches of some artists supports the formal language of the abstract in different dimensions and turns it into a scientific language of art. Therefore, the fact that the language of form becomes the language of science simultaneously creates the correlative relations in the artistic approach.
In this direction, in this article, the understanding of form, which can be called "Monotype Abstract", of the American artist Franz Kline, one of the important representatives of non-figurative formalist approaches; By trying to examine abstract art in terms of its scientific foundations, it will be analyzed with a conceptual language how the understanding of shaping unique to the artist turns into a "sign"
