Disability has been existed since the beginning of human history and has been a multidimensional matter of concern. Since disability brings many different challenges in the social life of an individual, it makes them more disadvantageous. As one of the human rights, employment becomes difficult to reach for these individuals. Employment, which plays a critical role in the social-economic self-sufficiency of the disabled and their future decisions, includes various accessibility and sustainability challenges. Though there exist several studies in the literature on the challenges of employment of the disabled, there are a few studies that focus on employment problems depending on the level of disability and even a few on the employment of spiritually disabled individuals. This study, in particular, focuses on the employment of spiritually disabled people, which involves an important group of disability types. This study includes a literature review and presents current employment data of spiritually disabled individuals. Therefore, it aims to support micro studies on the employment of the disabled and to contribute to future studies on the subject.
