The purpose of this study is to examine the memorization process which can be an important problem both in piano education and during the professional career of pianists, through Fugue memorization and to offer solutions. In the study, the history of the tradition of playing from memory in concert performances were examined, and the benefits of playing from memory were revealed against the stress burden that brought to the pianists with the general acceptance of this tradition in the education process and in this way the transformation of playing from memory into a rule in concerts, exams and competitions. Technical, biological and psychological barriers to memorization were identified and solutions were offered. In the study, the literature on the subject was searched and some studies on music and piano music memorization in the world were examined and included in the suggestions. It is thought that by reducing general memorization problems, pianists who have memorization problems will also reduce the stress burden during performance, especially for Fugue memorization, which is one of the most difficult piano music forms to memorize.
