RESEARCH ON SAFE LIVING AREAS IN ISTANBUL PROVINCE: THE CASE OF USKUDAR DISTRICT

Abstract

Increasing population density with each passing year has limited the habitats of living things and brought security problems. Especially with the increase of motor vehicles, parking occupations prevented the use of pedestrian roads and caused irregular structuring. For this reason, "urban transformation" studies play an active role in metropolitan cities in order to create more livable and sustainable areas for societies.

With this study, factors that cause security problems in cities were evaluated together and solution suggestions were presented with field researches conducted in Uskudar district
